Connect the Vending Machine to the Internet

Connect the Vending Machine to the Internet

Please note that the OMNI machines do not normally require internet to function. Here are scenarios where Wi-Fi connection is NOT needed:

Cashless Devices

Cashless devices usually operate on a cellular signal and do not require Wi-Fi connection to process or report payment.

External Age Verification/Camera

These devices must be connected to internet, but will do so independently of the machine. Follow the guides for these devices for instructions on that process.

Duravend Machine

Duravend machines will never require connection to the internet for any of their functionality.

If the machine has a software-based age verification system or is connected to a remote access program (such as CV Remote Access), then the machine will need to be connected to the internet using the steps outlined below.

  1. Log into the Admin login of the machine.

  2. Tap the LOGOUT button in the top right corner.

  3. Tap the Settings App (shown as a Gear).
    1. If this app does not appear on this screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen or tap the small up-pointing arrow in the bottom center of the screen to see the apps on the machine.

  4. Tap the "Wi-Fi" setting.

  5. Ensure the Wi-Fi is ON at the top of the screen.

  6. A list of Wi-Fi networks will appear. Select one to connect to and provide credentials to connect to it.
    1. If the desired network does not appear, the signal is too weak to reach the machine. Try:
      • Pulling the internet antenna to the outside of the machine to get a better signal.
      • Connecting the machine to another network.
      • Moving the machine closer to the source of the signal.
      • Boosting the signal of the network.
      • Connecting the machine to a personal hotspot instead.

  7. Once credentials have been provided, ensure that the "Connected" message appears below the selected network.
    1. If instead a "Authentication Problem" message appears, then the incorrect credentials have been provided or the machine is being blocked by the network's firewall.
    2. If instead a "Saved" message appears, then the signal to the network is too weak to fully connect. Try the steps outlined in step 6 to achieve a more reliable signal.

  8. Return to the Android home screen by tapping the circle button in the bottom center of the screen. Then launch the vending application by tapping the green vending app.
    1. The machine can also be turned off and on again.

  9. If the machine is successfully connected to the internet, a blue Wi-Fi signal will appear in the top right corner of the screen.
    1. There may be a red bar through this symbol. This does NOT mean there is no connection to the internet. If the Wi-Fi symbol appears, the machine is connected to internet.
